Nundle will always hold a special place in my heart due to the fact that it lies around 60kms away from my hometown of Tamworth and it used to be a great little spot to pack a picnic with my grandparents and cousins in tow to take pop’s gold pans to shake a bit of dirt around and try our luck at striking gold. My pop once put a $2 coin in my shovel of dirt so I did find some gold….in some sense, cheeky bugger. Not only that my Father had a few gigs there with his band and I remember trying to fall asleep backstage with a couple of chairs put together for a bed and his jacket as my blanket.
I was so excited to get a message from Kylie who had seen my previous work and was keen to book me for their Dag Sheep Station wedding in November 2017. I’d seen a few weddings from other photographers at the DAG so I was stoked that I would be able to document their special day there.
Kylie was great in organising a meeting there about 6 months before the event so I could get to know her and her son a bit better before the day and to check out the property for places to shoot with the bridal party. On inspection it became clear that we wouldn’t have a drama with locations to shoot both indoors and out.
Kylie and Brett were very relaxed on the day and Brad and I couldn’t believe how smooth things were going on the photography front. Usually we are a bit strapped for time in some way or another but everything was well organised and the photos were covering all elements in good time.
The ceremony was really lovely, with acknowledgement of Kylie’s Mum who had passed away but would have been very proud of her daughter on this day. Lee Watts (celebrant) did a great job of conducting the ceremony in a serious way but giving opportunity for some laughs throughout it as well.
Their wedding party crew were fantastic, all members were up for having some fun with the photography on the day and the fantastic shots we got had a lot to do with the energy they brought to the task and for that I must say a big thank you!
Thank you also to Kylie and Brett for allowing me to play some part in this perfect day.It was so much fun and so beautiful….bravo! I hope you absolutely love the photos, all the best for your future
