Spring has well and truly hit the Upper Hunter, the landscape here is beautiful at the moment due to the repeat visits of rain we have had over the last few months. Everything looks like a picture postcard, the grass is green, bees are buzzing around, the wildlife is celebrating the warmth. Its like being in a scene from Bambi!……..ok that might be going a bit far but lets face it a spring is the best time of the year….unless you suffer hay fever, I imagine that’s not too much fun.
It had been a long while since I last visited the Washpools just out of Scone, if you follow me on Facebook you may remember a shot I took of my son out there standing in the dry creek pretending to be me taking a photo. Here it is…
Even though it was dry at the time I thought it would be a great place to do a shoot and hoped that one day I would get the opportunity.
Last week opportunity knocked when Belinda Woodley and her family wanted to used their Copper Tree gift voucher and suggested we head out to the washpools. I was excited to see if there was water flowing in it. I went out a bit earlier as I do with most shoots to scout for good places to shoot and to my delight found the washpools to be well and truly flowing. So if your a local wanting to pack a picnic and get back to nature the washpools is the perfect place at the moment.
Belinda and her family were great during the shoot, happy to walk from place to place to the locations I had in mind and also happy to throw in some tickles and games when requiring some laughter shots.
We had a perfect day for this shoot, the weather had been glorious that day and the light was just gorgeous.
A big thanks to the Woodley family for being champs during the shoot, it makes a world of difference for the photos and I hope you love these to bits.
